A sample of the fluid is taken from the resevoir and put on a white sample pallet. The photo opposite shows:
We test the fluid every time your car has a WOF or Service and report the result to you on the Preventative Maintenance Report sheet. The cost of us servicing the power steering system is on our Price board. A Power Steering Flush Machine (Green Box Below) is needed to change it effectively. |
Initially a Power Steering flush solution is added to the system and with the car on a hoist the steering wheel is turned from full lock left to full lock right repeatedly so the solution can “wash” the dirt that is trapped in small pockets around the system, back into the old fluid. Then the old oil is removed while new oil is added at the same time. Finally we add a power steering treatment solution which helps to keep the rubber seals soft and in good condition and also has a stop leak function should any small leaks start in the future. |

We use Wynns Specialist Flushes and treatments in all our servicing. |
Result from a recent service that was well overdue!Opposite is a photo of the new fluid ready to go into a Power steering system (Red Oil on Right) and a container of oil that has just come out of a system (Black Oil on Left). |
